Who needs this
- Journalists and fact-checkers chasing a clip in a language outside the desk.
- PR and brand teams monitoring what is being said about them across markets.
- Researchers and analysts following regional or foreign-language sources.
- Everyone else trying to understand a video a friend, a customer or a relative sent in a language they don't read.
How it works
- Paste the link. It is checked the moment you paste it.
- Choose your language. The spoken language is detected automatically.
- Read it. Text in your language, with optional timestamps — or click Write article for a short written report of what the video says.
Supported links
| Platform | Link type |
|---|---|
| Public posts | |
| Public videos | |
| X (Twitter) | Public video posts |
| TikTok | Public videos |
| Threads | Public posts |
| SoundCloud | Public tracks |
| Dailymotion | Public videos |
Most other public video links work too. Private posts and anything behind a login can't be fetched. For YouTube, download or record the video and upload the file.
Verify before you share
Understanding a clip is not the same as authenticating it. Confirm the account is genuine and the footage is current before you quote or forward it — then attribute it clearly as “in a video posted on…”.
Frequently asked questions
Can I understand a video in a language I don't speak?
Yes. Paste a public link from Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, Threads, SoundCloud or Dailymotion and AI Journalist converts what is said into text in your language — and can write it up as an article. A direct YouTube link is not supported; upload the video file instead.
Can Hindi audio become a Tamil news article?
Yes — that is the core of AI Journalist. The spoken language is detected automatically, and you choose the language of the output from 30 options. Hindi audio to a Tamil article, Tamil radio to English wire copy, an Arabic briefing to a Hindi feature: any spoken language to any output language, as text or as a finished news article.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 2 hours per recording and 1 GB per file. Long recordings are processed in sections and joined back together, so the upload doesn't fail halfway. Large videos are compressed on your own device first, so only a small audio file is uploaded.
Is the article ready to publish as it is?
Treat it as a strong first draft. AI can mishear names, numbers and heavy accents, so check every quote, figure and proper noun against the recording before you publish. You are the editor; AI Journalist removes the typing and translating, not the responsibility.
